Led a recent strategic planning effort with an Executive Leadership Team, where nearly all involved had wanted to change their siloed approach for years but had failed to do so.

Traditionally, each functional leader had worked independently on their plan and relied on someone to bring it all together into one cohesive organizational narrative - with common themes, coordinated strategies and budgets that laddered up to top of the house expectations.

But change happened this time. How and why?

(1) The ELT acknowledged that willingness to change was not enough
(2) I listened and probed to get underneath the real pain points, and resolved them methodically and jointly
(3) I brought the group together in a working session up-front, after having pulled in information from their teams, making it easier to co-create themes, top line narratives and next-level strategic decisioning
(4) And designed the process and materials with future repeatability in view
